Jim is the Principal of Clear Focus Solutions, a talent development consulting firm specializing in helping organizations realize the full potential of people to successfully execute targeted business strategies.
Clear Focus Solutions provides an integrated suite of business-focused talent development solutions in the areas of business performance assessment; leadership development; and executive coaching.
Jim focuses on developing organizational leaders to apply best practices and thought leadership in practical, result-oriented ways to effectively achieve organizational and business objectives. He emphasizes the development of team leadership through enhanced emotional intelligence as a means to leader and organizational effectiveness.
Jim’s approach to leadership development is informed by over 25 years experience in corporate human resources development including leadership roles in management assessment, succession planning, leadership training, organization development and executive career management.
In addition to his own direct management experience his professional expertise includes consulting with C-level executives and their reports across multiple functions in both large and smaller organizations in a wide variety of industries such as advanced technology, manufacturing, health care, finance and marketing.
Education and Qualifications
Jim’s professional coach training has included The Executive Program, an executive coaching and development program; the Business Coaching Program of B-Coach Systems; Corporate Coach University and certification as a leadership development coach through Right Management Consultants. He currently serves on the coach training faculty of the International Coach Academy.
He is qualified with multiple leadership assessment instruments including the Lominger Leadership Architect, MBTI, DISC, FIRO-B, HBDI, BarOn EQ-i, 360-degree Leadership Effectiveness Analysis, and has administered management assessment centers including conducting assessor training.
Jim earned an M.A. in Human Resources Development and a B.A. with major emphasis in Counseling, both from the University of Illinois at Springfield. He also earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
He is a member of the International Coach Federation, St. Louis Coaches Association, and served as Communications Chair for the St. Louis Organization Development Network.
Representative Leadership Coaching Engagements and Clients
Jim served five years as an instructor and leadership development coach for the Boeing Leadership Center and coaches executives with Amdocs, Edward Jones, Ingersoll Rand, Maritz, Monsanto, St. Francis Medical Center and other large and smaller organizations.
In addition, he partners with other consultants and consulting firms to provide leadership coaching, team and organizational development interventions.
Jim has also served as the director and executive career coach for the St. Louis chapter of ExecuNet, a national network of c-level executives and senior-level managers.
